AboutGrief.ca is operated by the Canadian Virtual Hospice, a division of the International Centre for Dignity and Palliative Care, a registered charity. The Canadian Virtual Hospice administers AboutGrief.ca on behalf of the Canadian Grief Alliance, a group of leading grief specialists and more than 150 national and provincial organizations advocating for improved grief services in Canada. The AboutGrief.ca portal is an online knowledge management centre that aggregates evidence-informed articles, resources, programs, innovations, and research. Key features include:
- Articles addressing different topics related to death and non-death losses
- Resources feature – grief resources in a searchable database
- Ideas and Innovations feature – innovations and research in a searchable database
- Programs and Services feature – local regional and national programs and services from across Canada in a searchable database
- Video Gallery – videos sourced from the CVH repository in a searchable database
- Grief Assistant – an AI powered assistant that provides automated assistance and information
